BE IT KNOWN TO THE CITIZENS OF THE WORLD:

The Board of Directors of United Poets Laureate International hereby resolves and proclaims that Dr. Dimitris P. Kraniotis is named official president of 22nd World Congress of Poets.

Hereby be it known to the nation and people of Greece that Dr. Dimitris P. Kraniotis has been honored with this distinguished title and position because of his acclaimed and renowned contributions to the glorious cause of poetry and because of the brilliant Greek cultural heritage through the ages.

Hereby resolved on 20 July, 2009, at Managua , Nicaragua , and attested to by the members of UPLI Board of Directors.

22th World Congress of Poets in Larissa, Greece (June 2011)

After the meetings of the President of 22th WCP/UPLI Dr. Dimitris P. Kraniotis with the Prefect of Larissa Mr. Loukas Katsaros and the Mayor of Larissa Mr. Konstantinos Tzanakoulis, the 22th World Congress of Poets was announced to be held in Larissa (Greece), in the second half of June 2011. Larissa is the 4th biggest city of Greece and the capital city of Thessaly in Central Greece.

The Prefect of Larissa Mr. Loukas Katsaros stated that: "We welcome the very honorary event of conducting the 22nd World Congress of Poets in our Prefecture, and we declare that we will work for its impeccable conduct. It is an occasion of promoting our Prefecture, Olympus, our history and tradition in world level. The international activity of Dimitris P. Kraniotis is very important for our Prefecture and I thank him personally for this".

The Mayor of Larissa Mr. Konstantinos Tzanakoulis stated that: "The Municipality of Larissa will aid this very important cultural event that has world-wide character and which will promote the city of Larissa and the Prefecture all over the world. With the holding of the Mediterranean Games in 2013 and the "Cultural Mediterranean" of 2009 - 2013, the event takes on special extent for the supporting of our tourism which is one of the biggest bets for the games."
